Player storylines, tournament launches and a High Times partnership lead into the $15 million Dual Mystery Bounty Venoms.
SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA / ACCESS Newswire / August 4, 2026 / Americas Cardroom enters August after a busy July that combined high-profile poker moments, new tournament formats, live-event packages and a partnership with High Times.
Alex Foxen and Chris Moneymaker supplied two of the month's most visible stories during ESPN's 2026 Main Event coverage. Foxen called Vinh Nguyen's 67,100-chip shove with A♠J♣ against J♥10♥ and won a 142,500-chip pot on the 6♦ K♥ 5♣ A♥ 6♠ board. Moneymaker later exited on the stone bubble after calling Antonio Vargas's river shove with J♥9♦ on an 8♥ 7♠ 7♦ 7♣ 8♠ board. Vargas held A♥A♠.
Americas Cardroom followed that moment with The Moneymaker Bubble Effect on July 28. The online tournament carried a $0.10 buy-in and a $10,000 guarantee, while the player eliminated directly on the money bubble received a $2,650 Venom seat.
The online schedule also expanded during July. The Run Up Series began July 12 with 163 events and more than $10 million guaranteed through August 17. The $2.5 million guaranteed 25th Anniversary Tournament opened July 18 with a $250 buy-in and a cumulative-stack format that combines every qualifying stack for Day 2.
Venom Fever added more than 1,500 guaranteed seats into the two upcoming $2,650 Mystery Bounty Venoms. Qualification routes range from $0.01 Spin to Get In games and $0.80 Survivor Flips to Venom Madness, Direct Satellites and the Venom Vault. Two special Beast satellites also awarded 20 Moneymaker Poker Tour Aruba packages worth $5,000 each.
Outside poker, Americas Cardroom announced its sponsorship of High Times' Kicking Back, a World Cup docuseries hosted by Ethan Zohn. Martin Zamani was announced for sponsored segments focused on poker and cannabis culture.
August is led by the Dual Mystery Bounty Venoms beginning August 13. The No-Limit Hold'em event guarantees $12 million and offers a $500,000 top bounty. The Pot-Limit Omaha event guarantees $3 million with a $250,000 top bounty. Both events have a $2,650 buy-in, a $5,000 minimum Mystery Bounty and eight Day 1 flights.
The month also includes three Run Up Main Events on August 16 with $33, $215 and $1,050 buy-ins, followed by Day 2 on August 17. Current schedules and qualification details are available through ACR Poker News.
